Kendall Toyota Completed

Vik Construction recently completed the 59,000sf Kendall Toyota dealership, which will be the first LEED (Leadership of Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certified automotive dealership on the West Coast, and only the second in the United States. The building features exterior panels made of recycled aluminum, photocvoltaic panels on the roof, and a rainwater collection and reuse system that will generate enough water to run the dealership’s car wash and 100% of the irrigation needs. Other sustainable features include a high performance HVAC system, which will be 20% to 30% more efficient than typical building of the same size and low VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). We are proud that is project was delivered on-time and under budget.


Coburg Station Underway

Good Neighbor Care Project Complete

Ed Boykin and his crew did a incredible job completing the Good Neighbor Care offices under an aggressive timeline. The team met the schedule and turned the building over to Good Neighbor on March 3rd. This project included gutting out all interior walls, new roof with 19 roof top units, a stucco face lift with new parapet walls, paint on the interior and exterior,
three exterior canopies, new kitchen, front desk and lobby.

Grants Pass Shopping Center Completed

We recently completed the $5 million Grants Pass Shopping Center expansion anchored by Ross Dress for Less and several retail shops. This was Vik Construction’s fifth Ross Dress for Less project completed around the state of Oregon over the past five years. We were the design builder on this project, receiving the benefit of Jim Lewis of gLAs Architects of Eugene as the architect. This project also included a restaurant and canopy renovation and Famous Footwear store. Upcoming expansion includes a Pet-Co and Movie Theater renovation.


Delivering a New Birthing Center at St. Charles Medical Center, Bend

After one year of construction the $ 10.3 million, Family Birthing Center at St. Charles Medical Center is complete. This 24,000sf facility is modeled after Vanderbilt University’s neonatal intensive care unit and will support more than 2,000 births and will treat 300 babies in the new intensive care unit. Pour-in-place concrete core and fluted walls were constructed to reduce noise in the 12 new labor and delivery rooms and 12 private neonatal intensive care unit rooms to maximize privacy. We are proud to have taken part in the construction of the best birthing center east of the Cascades and deliver it on time and under budget.


Vik Construction 'LEED'ing the Way at Kendall Toyota, Eugene

Currently, we are constructing the new $ 8.5 Million Kendall Toyota car dealership in Eugene, which we are shooting for LEED “gold” certification. Our Project Manager, Neil McEachin’s LEED AP NC 2.2 certification and Green Building experience prepared him to provide effective Green Building knowledge and follow through for the Kendall Toyota project. We are working closely with the design team, subcontractors, and a LEED consulting firm to collect points in five categories: sustainable site development, water saving, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. Once the Kendall Toyota project is complete, a representative from the Green Building Council will review our documentation and award points out of a possible 69. At Vik Construction, we will are committed to expanding our understanding and construction efforts in ways that is environmentally conscience and sustainable.


Vik Construction Awarded New $8 Million Kendall Toyota Project

St. Charles, Neonatal Family Birthing Center

Currently at the Family Birthing Center there is a lot of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, framing and sheet metal work going in. The NICU is getting walls and the road work at the east side of the NICU is coming along well. The fluted concrete turned out beautifully along with many other construction details. The job is on schedule and under the guidence of Steve Newman and his crew.


vik completes $17 million heart center in bend

Vik Construction Company is proud of the recent completion of the $17 million Heart Center at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.  This complex medical facility was completed one month ahead of schedule and under the guaranteed maximum price.  The project underwent numerous schedule impediments which included extraordinary winter weather and two separate architects and owners for the building shell and tenant improvement.  The staff of Vik Construction had to be creative in implementing numerous techniques and approaches to overcome these obstacles.  Vik Construction has also started construction of the $10 million Family Neonatal Birthing Center at St. Charles Medical Center to be completed in late 2007.
